OK I have a canon A620 with the Ikelite housing. I purchased the sealife sl960D strobe.

Has anyone mounted this strobe to the Ikelite housing? The strobe has a center tripod screw and the Ikelite has two holes for mounting the tray. Anyone know what size and thread the Ikelite uses? Anyone found a tray that I could adapt to make this work?

I'm i the same boat, I've emailed ikelite and no reply . Anyway I found this on another site SAE 12-24. I am going to pick a couple up and try them. I will let you know if it's the right size

I'd take it down to a real hardware store, not Home Despot, and check out the stainless steel nuts and bolts section. Tripod mounts are usually 1/4" by 20 threads per inch. At least thats been the standard for about seventy years or so. Anyway a real hardware will usually have some old guy that will say "here, you need one of these, that'll be eighty five cents". Problem solved.
If you know an HVAC guy or a metal fabricator a tray can be made up in about thirty seconds. Drill a few holes, give it a few coats of paint and your on your way. I believe that flash uses a deflector to operate the slave, so when you mark out the tripod hole, make sure everything lines up right.;)

Yes this is an old thread. They are 12-24 and I found them at Ace hardware. I used a piece of aluminum bar for a tray. You can see a pciture of it in my gallery.

You will need to fabricate something to go from the case to the strobe because the piece that comes with the strobe doesn't have the correct hole pattern to match the Ike case. I used an aluminum bar about 2" wide by 1/4" thick and about 10" long. Then drilled two holes to match up with the case and one for the strobe. The case uses number 12 bolt with 24 threads per inch. 24 threads is an odd number most are either 20 or 28 but if you look hard you can find the 12-24 bolts.
