These are supposed to be arriving at my LDS tomorrow...looking forward to checking it out :)

I picked up my AERIS A300CS today. It actually arrived yesterday, but I was too busy to pick it up at the dive shop. I haven't tried it out yet and I am itching to get into the water.

One item that I did notice and this is minor, but annoyed me anyways. The program used to track your dives that AERIS IS RECOMMENDING, DOESNT COME WITH THE DIVE COMPUTER. DiverLog is a separate purchase. WTH, I just put out a grip of hard earned cash and AERIS can't include the software for Mac! The PC version is included, but it not the same as DiverLog. Yes, to be fair their is a free version of DiverLog, but it's missing a few features that might or might not be critical.

Will the Bluetooth feature work between the AREIS A300CS and IOS and Mac devices with the DiverLog lite or will you have to spend the $25.00 USD for the full DiverLog version to get that functionality?

Congratulations! But yeah, I wouldn't consider that a big deal for two reasons. First, I personally never use the disc included with any device. Often there's an updated version on the manufacturer's web site that's better or bug-fixed anyway. So the disc is just a waste of resources and ends up garbage. And second, it looks like Oceanic is distributing the Mac version via the Mac App Store, so there wouldn't be anything to include anyway.

By the way, I'd seriously look into MacDive and Dive Log for iOS. They sync with each other and are probably much better than DiverLog. I'm sure the A300CS isn't supported yet by either, though, since it just came out. Looks like they need to add bluetooth support.

I got my 300cs yesterday....love the computer BUT.....only for ios. What about android?? I can't use it with my Samsung galaxy phone. Why have BT if I can't use it? What about screen protectors?? The shiny chrome is going to get beat up and the screen will get scratched.....??????

What about android??

DiverLog Lite will enable you to download and analyse all of your dive data and update firmware. The full version enables settings upload, synchronization with DiveCloud online dive log storage, iOS and future Android apps, and social sharing. A complete comparison of features and more information is available here: Diverlog for Mac

Bluetooth will work to transfer dive data from the A300 CS via the free PC & Mac applications - as well as the full DiverLog, iOS and Android apps. The PC version is available and included on the CD with the product - and is compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 and the included USB cable. DiverLog for Mac is estimated to be available June 1 and the iOS app following approximately July 1. Android app is under development - I will update this thread with an ETA when it is available.

  • User Replaceable Battery with 30-40 dive hour life*. Data Retention maintains settings and calculations between battery changes
  • *Battery life varies depending on several factors including display intensity setting (user adjustable on surface and underwater), water temperature and age of the battery. Use may be extended by dimming the display underwater and/or enabling auto-dim option.

Doug, does this mean that the A300CS will be able to communicate/sync with Windows and Mac OS X via USB instead of bluetooth? I'm thinking also for 3rd party software like MacDive and Diving Log.

Thanks!

Anybody doing an unboxing ? Hopefully mine will be here Friday or Monday !

I didn't do one, because I am no good at it, and I hate my voice on tape.
