Hi

I am new to UW video (though not to diving), well I dabbled a bit with a friend's still camera video mode and am looking to invest into a serious set of good quality kit.

Now this is what I have in mind...

- Canon XM2 (3CCD/MiniDV)
- Ikelite Housing 6042
(http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/vcanongl2.html)
- Some sort of decent lights (not decided yet)
- Hard Carry Case (Pelican?)
- I plan to get a version of Pinnacle Sys Liquid
- Output edited product onto DVDs burnt on my machine

Now, I have looked and looked around and no one seems to use the Canon XM2, is it simply out of most people's price ranges or is there something about this rig that I should be weary of? Is there a better setup I could get? Any suggestions on lights?

Feedback would be much appreciated!

many thanks
nic

I just noticed, the GL2 is the USA equivalent of the XM2 model (in the UK). Sorry for the confusion... any suggestions?

thanks
