thank you to kystork, ckharlan66 and Bill for making a much less than ideal day very much better. Your help and friendship are very much appreciated and cherished.

I trust you arrived home safely.

Chad

cataclysmic or catastrophic.

Just as I arrived at work the water pump on my vehicle self destructed and unbeknowst to me a radiator hose burst also. I'm 50 miles from home with no tools and its windy and pouring down rain all day.

Kystork brought tools from her home so I could start the removal and replacement of the water pump. Never mind she worked that night and stayed up all day helping me. She went down to the nearby LDS where Bill had agreed to loan me some additional tools. During one of trips to get something she stopped and picked up some lunch for me without me mentioning anything about eating. She also brought to my "frazzled" attention that a large trash bag could be a decent makeshift poncho. I was already soaking wet but it did keep the wind off of me which made things much more comfortable.

Later as the day wore on and I found that the radiator hose had burst Chad arrived--he had called me 3 or 4 times throughout the day. He had the one kind of tool I needed to get the final clamp on the radiator hose and arrived ready to dive into some mechanic work. He was another set of eyes above the engine compartment while I was under the vehicle trying to blindly try to get this recalcitrant clamp into place. Once that was done he went to a nearby specialty coffee place and picked up a double mocha cappacino while I worked on getting the air purged from the cooling system. He offered me one of those heavy Carhart style jackets to wear to help stay warm while we were waiting for this purging process to finish. He didn't leave until I determined the vehicle was OK to drive so that if all had failed I would have transportation somewhere to eventually get home. All in all they stuck with me through about a little over 7 hours of a trying day.

It's just the things they did without asking and by being there that makes me glad that they are my friends. I guess its no wonder why I like to dive with them. They truly are good friends--and thats priceless

screwdriver??? :tease:

Glad that it all turned out fine and...

Kudos!!!
to kystork, ckharlan66 and Bill for helping a friend. People like you are more precious than gold.

Nope NetDoc not a screwdriver. What I needed was a set of Halcyon channel locks:D and small miracle to get everything lined up exactly right so that ^%$#@#! clamp would slide into place.

quick suggestion if I am understanding right time to replace them clamp (spring)type clamps and replace them with the screw type clamps . but clade everything turned out ok if you ever in NC hollier real loud we try to help ya !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but at least everyone safe minus being cold and wet and out some cash for parts !!!!!!!!

your right, its time to replace the spring clamps. I'll try to get that done this week.

When I get to NC I'll holler real loud but hopefully it will be hollering for some diving:)
