When you get to the dock at Freeport Friday, don't forget your skeeter spray!

I just read a thread on Rodales D2D...
http://www.scubadiving.com/talk/read.php?f=1&i=546836&t=546805

A descriptive exerpt about the mosquitos from cp....
Their DNA has been altered by contact with all of the nasty chemicals floating around in the Freeport marshes.

Besides diamond-tipped stingers, capable of drilling though car doors, and built in radar, capable of homing in on a person from miles away, they eat DEET for breakfast. DEET is mild compared to what they grew up in. It's like mommy to them. I heard one buzz "I love the smell of DEET in the evening - smells like victory..."

Too true!

Wear long pants, socks, and long sleeve shirts. Only the uninitiated will think you are crazy.

Actually, you don't have to taste really bad. Just worse than most.

After we get off shore a ways, the skeeters stop following us right?

Wind is usually out of the south so skeeters will disappear as soon as you leave the inlet and kill any stragglers left in the cabin.
