Definitely. I just tried to post a review on a trip booked with LiveAboard and was not able to do so.Liveaboard does not post all reviews. I know I've complained on one and it never was posted. We have heard others have had the same thing. So their reviews are skewed.
I would like to post it here just so people will know:
Jan 2025 • Couples on boat named Iruvai
We bailed after the check dive.
We were already concerned about our rental equipment that arrived late in the evening of our first day on board. Our BCD's were wet and full of sand.
When testing the inflation before the dive both our BCD's did not hold air. Mine was 'repaired' by staff by blowing into the dump valve. My husband's never worked. He forfeited the dive which left me without a dive buddy. Yet, the staff shepparded me to the boat exit to jump off. I was the last to leave the boat.
Once I started descending, the valve gave way completely. I returned to the surface and not being able to inflate my BCD, I let go of the weight belt. I was still barely keeping my head above water as my tank was full and heavy.
I started to swim back and call for help. Neither dive masters came to my assistance (although afterwards one told me that he saw me drop the weight belt and he went to retrieve it...???). I was eventually spotted by the boat and pulled up.
Our trust in the diving team and the equipment was non existent at this point. We asked to be taken to shore ( the boat was still in Male).
The company insisted that this was a cancellation on our part and refunded only 1/2 of the cost.
