So I have been volunteering at the local aquarium and recently started diving in our big dome. We dive with a full face AGA mask with communications setup. I love the dome with all the sturgeon, rock fish, ling cod, dog fish, salmon and wolf eels swimming around.

Well as I was cleaning the glass one of the biologist came on line and asked if I would like to listen to some music?? I said “sure you have any sweeping classical music?” “Sure" he says "how about Vivaldi Four Season?” After 25yrs of diving it was something completely new and wonderful! All these years of diving with just the ambient sounds of the ocean and my own thoughts hearing the music was like being IN a dive video.

I dived with a chrter boat in Ft. Lauderdale that had underwater speakers and played some divagenic music, i thought it was really cool but a few of the other divers said they did not like it as they went diving to "get away from that sort of thing!!"

I've often thought that if I were to listen to music while diving, I would take Steve Roach's album, "Quiet Music." No drums... The music is very soothing -- almost reminiscent of whalesongs...

Good choice, id probably take return to innocence by Enigma, remember that, very native American and chilled and relaxed, or maybe tubular bells by mike oldfield:popcorn:

Wonderful story! I was at the Shedd Aquarium this weekend, and they had a (snuba) diver with a similar setup doing a feeding in the Caribbean Reef tank. He was set up to talk with the spectators and take questions and ask the kids trivia--seemed like a lot of fun!

This is just my opinion but I would not dive with an op that uses underwater speakers to play music. This is exactly the kind of thing I dive to get away from. Having to listen to all the dive computers constantly beeping because people don't know how to set their alarms properly is annoying enough.

We were in the middle of a dive last year at Mermet springs, at 55' over by
the 727 they turned on an underwater sound system. It was rather unexpected
but pretty cool. My dive budy thought he was in narcosis, I just wish I was fast
thinking at the time and played it out, signall, I don't hear anything????

Wow i want an underwater ipod mini!
