After posting in the wrong place i have finally got here..... hi 2 everyone, 49 yr old english guy here...260 dives ..mostly in dark n dreary ol' england....... nice to join u all.... and while i am here...... can anyone tell me a better alternative to paying £100 pounds for having a pee zip fitted in my wetsuit(yes wetsuit)...if the answer is pee urself..i will ignore it... :-).........
once again...nice to be here.....
maybe see u in Dahab in june..x

A bottle of "Sink the Stink" cost about $5.00 US. You can pee your self all day long if you rinse your suit with that.

Welcome to SB MacFishy, I didn't realize ol' England was so dark and dreary, but I've never been there. You might get better response to your question if you post it here Do It Yourself - DIY

No, you didn't post in the wrong place. You helped us greet Belinda. Now that you've posted twice, you're a participant. Next, try posting in other forums, and/or help us welcome new Intros here.

I want to join the others in welcoming you tho, and hope you like it here. I have never heard of anyone installing a pee zipper in a wet suit, as virtually everyone I know just goes in theirs and deals with it later. Urine is a little smelly, but sterile, you know? I do always wear shoes on a dive boat, tho, never going barefoot, and this is one of the reasons. :11: $100UK? That's more than I paid for my last wet suit.

You might follow this path to post this question in this forum, tho: ScubaBoard.Com > The Equipment of Scuba Diving > Exposure Suits

my instructor said to just make sure you 'flush' after activating the in-suit warming system. i also wash my suit once in a while with suit shampoo in the (front-loader) washer. however, i'm sure a zip could be arranged. where is the current zip? could it simply be changed to a double-ended zipper so you could unzip from either end? and welcome. this board is the perfect place to get such weir-...uh, unusual questions answered!

Not only am I a diver but a surfer as well living on Topsail Island of North Carolina. We in the south have never heard of a pee zipper in a wetsuit either. Especially if it cost you 100 thingys. Since everybody has just said to pee in your suit I guess you don't need it to be restated so I won't. But welcome to the board. And if you do get a pee zipper installed into your wetsuit PLEASE POST PICTURES OF IT! I know it would be a very interesting site.

Hi there Macfishy, nice to hear from another Brit on the board. You're lucky to be able to use a zipper, yea I is female. Listen you fellas out there it aint easy being a scuba diva when your out on a rib, double dives and no facilities on board, in a dry suit. One less cup of tea in the morning and make sure that last pee before you leave the shop is a good one! I did try the female nappies. I gave it a go while I was waiting for my buddy to catch his lobster while we were on a wreck one day, it didn't work!! My next buy was a wet suit, oh the bliss of that worry off my mind!!! I get colder but I'm happier.

Whereabouts in U.K. are you? I'm in Gosport.

When to Sharm el Sheik in Egypt, fantastic diving out there, that's where I got me bends, so I know the medical facilities are good too! My club went to Dahab recently and said it was quieter than Sharm, which is no bad thing, but diving still good.

Have fun and maybe hear from you again.

In the days of old, when dives were cold
and drysuits weren't invented,
the best latrine was neoprene,
especially when rented.

There are several alternatives for peeing when it comes to drysuits (wearing a diaper, installing a pee zipper etc) but I can't imagine needing it for a wetsuit. If you're absolutely against peeing in your own suit and "flushing" it with let in water, then just wait til you get out.

You're using a wetsuit (hence your problem) so your dives can't be THAT long that you can't wait, otherwise you'd be using a drysuit. Not to mention most of them are fairly easy to get down halfway to release the tension.

Another quote to end the post:

There are two types of divers: Those who pee in their wetsuit and those who lie about doing it.
