Any suggestions for Xmas dinner and New Year's eve party in Maui? There are some 20-30 yr olds coming along for the trip to Maui and wanna have fun of course while we dive So I wanna plan a good Xmas night dinner and get heads up for a good NY party?? Any advise or experiences welcome please!! Thx so much

We travel to Maui for Christmas and New Years every year, and gave up on the whole holiday thing a couple of years ago. We found that prices tripled or quadrupled for Christmas dinners anywhere you go, and really you can pick just about any bar for a New Year's Party, depending on your likes/dislikes and where you're staying. Heck, if you're in Lahaina, just do a bar crawl along front street and you're good to go!

Nodays we get take-away from one of our favorite locals-type joint and do Christmas Eve and Day dinners in our condo. New Years we typically do the same thing, but then go out and enjoy the night life somewhere afterward for awhile. Realistically, we dive everyday (including the 24th and 25th)while on Maui with the 31st being our last day, so often are in bed LONG before midnight strikes. Though this year we have friends joining us on island who have never been to Hawaii, so we're going to the Old Lahaina Luau on New Year's Eve!

All the big resorts and hotels offer Christmas and New Year's dinner/show combos it seems, and if you're looking for a booze cruise, those can be found easily as well for both occasions. Look around, pick something you like, and go for it!
