Besides the price, color and the "bling" ring, are there any other differences between a standard (non-LX) Legend second stage and the Legend Octo?

The only difference is the housing cover (plastic, bling) and the adjustment knob is not included on the Octo (where it comes with the Legen LX 2nd stage)

It might be set so that there is more resistance to pull in the diaphram though... but you can change that.



(someone correct me if I'm wrong).
 
Have both the Legend 'bling' and the octo.

The LX version has two switchable knobs while the octo has only one. Both very good breathers, sometimes I am tempted to breathe using the octo but afraid that I look awkward doing that on ocean dives. But in the pool, oh yeah.
 
The two knobs do two completely different things.
