I simply wanted to take the time to thank and remember all the men and women (past and present) who have served in the armed forces for doing their best to bring freedom to our lives. Many of them have made the ultimate sacrifice and I for one simply want to say, "Thank you!" You all have my heartfelt admiration and respect.

Amen. Let us remember what this holiday is about as we plan our dives, picnics and family time.
Thank you all members of the armed forces past and present, for fighting for my freedom.

Amen. Thank you for protecting my freedom from those who would take it.

I too would like to thank anyone who plays any kind of role in protecting our country. For all you do day in and day out, THANK YOU!!!!!

Just another voice saying thank you to all who have, or are, making the rest of us safer.Your efforts are appreciated.
Godspeed, and return home safely.

Mike

Thank-you!

With a special thanks to my dad who died somewhat after the Korean war, but still due to it. I wish you could have met your grand-children. And another thanks to both of my grand fathers who died in WWII. I wish I could have met either one of you.

It's not often as a Vet I see or hear people say thanks for the efforts and sacrafices made. It really warms my heart to see things like the postings in this thread.

So, I want to say thank you to all of you who have expressed their thanks to the Vets.

I would also like to say thanks to the other Vets out there and wish all those away from home Gods speed in coming home safely.

My grandson who is the kindergarden was marching in his first parade with his school in Hoosick Falls NY. Since adults were invited to march with the kids, Remy, asked his grandpoppy to march with him. So I did. The ceremony around the town park band stand could not have been duplicated by Hollywood. Prefect weather and I swear the whole town was out for the parade. 21 gun salute, taps, bag pipes and the National Anthem by the HS band.

Hoosick Falls' Armory, Company C, was deployed 2 weeks ago. This was the 85th contineous Memorial Day ceremony in this tiny little town. Well done Hoosick Falls.

A would like to reiterate Brianwl's point of thanks from a vet. It's only been recent times, in my opinion, since the Kuwaiti war, that Americans have truely started to understand what our servicemen and servicewomen have done, and are doing for our country. While I do have mixed feelings about the press in certain areas, this is a good point of the media being on site. I would also like to point out that finding bad apples is always easy and typical of an industry that needs to sell sensationalism. The vast majority of the people providing our security, are people you would welcome as your neighbors.

Thanks from me to all vets, past, present and future.
