Washington State extended the Spot Shrimp season for 1 day. You are allowed 80 shrimp per license, 2 traps per person, 4 max traps on the boat. Shrimping is allowed between 9 am to 1 pm. Me and my buddy headed out for Dabob Bay on the Hood Canal about 7 am and motored to our general location and drifted around for a bit watching the sonar and staying on top of the shrimp. At 9 we set our pots in 300 feet of water and then waited an hour. 10 am we hooked up the pot puller and hauled the first pot. Bingo 200 + in the trap and 2 limits. The three remaining all were 200+ also but we had to release them. Man that hurt. Listening to the radio traffic others around us were pulling 6 to 40 a trap. Got to love sonar.
