So this is actually diving related, but I cannot think of a better forum since its a somewhat random topic.
We all know that deep-sea fish can be pretty darn weird. This one (Macropinna microstoma) takes the cake:
Those two eye-like things above its mouth - not its eyes. They're nostrils. Its real eyes are those two green tubes inside its transparent "skull" - and yes, they are inside its "skull",not poking through like the rest of us.
Now, what gas mix do I need to get down to 600m? :scubadive:
