Guys,

I got an email about this online WWF petition to reduce fishing in Hong Kong waters. You can read the details on the site, but to summarise, HK fishing stocks are in a dreadful state, so the more signatures the better.

WWF::Conservation::SOS

Thanks,

Uh-huh. I'm sure that the Chinese will honor anything that the WWF petitions them to do. What a laffer.

So, because you believe it may be a lost cause, the rest of us should do nothing? That right?

Sorry mate, I'll keep hoping and trying to find a few like-minded people.

You will find that many people feel that everything on the planet was put here for us to use and abuse as we see fit. They don't get conservation.

You will also find people who do not believe there is anything really wrong. Certainly if there is it isn't our fault, they think.

And there are those who just don't care one way or the other.

So what may the WWF be able to do against the mighty China? They might raise awareness and perhaps other nations and maybe even the UN may take notice and try to force them to change their ways.

Maybe successfull, maybe not. But to do nothing is tragic.

OK Hammerhead. And I'll wait for Jesus to return and let's see which comes first.

blah blah blah Jesus words
Are you going to sign the petition or not?

If not, do us all a favour and stop crapping up the thread then get the **** out.

Chip/Zeeman: No, I think I'll just p*** off some folks who are easy by stating my opinion about the issue. And my opinion is that the whole idea is a waste of time and money because the Chinese, like the Japanese, like the Russians, like the Burmese, etc. are going to keep on doing what they do whether someone tells them that it's disruptive and wasteful. Sorry about you inability to hold a decent, informed, intelligent conversation without trying to put me down. That's your problem, not mine. In other words (I'll repeat the word Chip used) both of you can **** off.
