OK, so I’m looking to make the jump to a BPW setup from my aging (but still kicking!) Knighthawk. My diving ranges from traveling to warm shirt-and-swimshorts tropical diving to local cold water quarries and potentially diving off of NJ (live here but actually never been!); so capital R rec diving mixed with local mildly-techish (dry suit and pony bottle, but no doubles or side mount likely in my future). So I want something that can be adaptable to compact travel but also support long walks down to the quarry entry or along cold northern beches.

The DR Transpac seems like it will be a bit overkill, but I’m in my late 30’s and have been rocking that Knighthawk since highschool. So I’ve learned that buying top shelf gear yields dividends in longevity and diving enjoyment. Plus, who knows, maybe I’ll get board and want to give doubles a go!

So that begs a few questions:
-Wings: Looking at Voyager versus Travel series. Travel seems better for…travel, but its hard to gauge how much bigger the voyager is. Voyager seems spec’d to cover northern and tropical diving, but likely bulky overkill for the later? (I Tried googling a side by side comparison and my search skills failed me. ) I’d not want that wing for drysuit diving but for thicker wetsuit diving (5/7mm) it might squeeze by. Thoughts?

-I love my current hoseless reg setup; Galelo Luna with air Tx and Air2 on the knighthawk for octo. Really would like to not have to go back to using a dedicated Octo, especially for slimmed down travel. Anyone using an integrated octo option with a DR wing? I’ve no intention of selling my Knighthawk (still works, but it’ll be my plan-b rig), so If its possible to mount the Air2 on that I’ve no qualms with a frankenrig.

Yeah and then he can buy the johndiver999 Transpac for the wing
