Stayed at Capt. Don's two years ago. Always travel as single diver and have been very fortunate to hook up with buddies on site. Klein Bonaire has some great dive sites and can only be accessed by boat (unless you're a world-class marathon swimmer!). I chose to Dive with Capt Don in the morning most days and then headed out in a Rav 4 i rented on site for the afternoon shore dives (I believe Don's included tanks for shore diving but I can't be certain if they did or how many they offered) . Did manage to hook up with a buddy on day one and, luckily, our stays pretty much coincided, so I was set for the week.
The water's warm (I was there in Oct. so I can't say how July is), the currents almost non-existant, the depths reasonable---you can dive your brains out well within your safety margin. I'm a coldy, so I dove a 5 mil (as I always do for an extended dive trip unless the water heats up above 85 degrees).
Just be careful not to leave ANYthing in your vehicle while diving...the reports are legion of even the funkiest clothes and sneakers being carted away. Leave the doors open and bring everything with you.
