HI there we are two new divers from Jacksonville heading to Fort Lauderdale as of Tuesday the 15th of June. We were hoping someone could give us some info on interesting sights less than sixty feet deep, maybe beach dives...looking for cool sealife and the like. If any one in the area(Ft. Lauderdale) is planning to head out to a fairly novice dive site and wouldn't mind two tag-alongs that don't need help in the water just the area, please respond. Any and all other suggestions would be great.

When are you planning on diving?
There are plenty of ongoing threads with info on beach diving in the area.

Unless things change you really can't go wrong right now.

For boat diving, they're all great here. I suggest you call Lighthouse Dive and explain what you're looking for, your level, etc.. They can hook you up with the right skipper & boat because they're associated with several in the area. If you decide to call somebody else, don't worry because we dive with them all and have no safety or boat concerns.

Shore diving is excellent right now but there's more of a chance conditions will change... we've had a terrible Spring and we're all a little gun-shy about recommending beach diving if you're only going to be here one day... all your eggs in one basket so to speak.

Shore diving may also be a problem as far as buddies are concerned since you'll be here on a weekday. But here's what I suggest you do - do another post with the date in the subject header, like "Shore dive 6/15" and just lay it out there - "We'd like to dive during [the day/evening/or whatever] and are looking for a time, place and buddies." If anybody's going to be diving they'll reply with where and when.
