Great day - charter on Fran Marceaux's boat. Sunny, calm, light winds.

Dive 1
OK Vis. 25 feet? Saw nurse shark under hull at break side, saw lots of good siszed flounder. Poked into wreck to check out inside. Always a great dive.
Max depth 101 fsw, 44 degrees at depth, 31 min BT

Surface interval - Fresh cool Cantalope and Oreos.
45 min ride to next site Satan's rock

Dive 2

Dove for scallops. Unfortunately, spent most of dive battling dive flag caught on line for a pot. Still, did OK and ended up with more than enough for dinner with guests. (scallops wrapped in procuitto, skewared on grill)
About 3 lbs?

41 min BT, Max depth 76, 44 - 46 degrees though one spot got as cool as 39

Fran had extra sandwich fixings from day before's 3 day charter so offered to have sandwiches made up for us when we surfaced. He pulls out the folding chairs. Sit down, let us shuck for you while you eat your sandwich & potato salad.

Always a pleasure diving with Fran. Awesome service. Helps to carry gear to boat, helps suit up.

A fine day.

Man, I should have gone with you for the scallops! I'll have to look into one of his next scallop charters.

Where's this charter out of?

BTW Luis, my brother and I are both learning diving with our drysuits, so email either of us if you are up for some late season diving.

Will do. I know we have to go down to cape some time in Octoto shut down house and cottage for season. I plan to bring gear down for sure and will let you know. I still have yet to dive STB!

Mmm.. Then I wonder what it was. It looked like a nurse shark (had two of the little fang like thingies (not teeth) Was still (not moving) I only saw it from front so.

There's always a chance it could be a nurse since they have been found in RI waters. Also, there's a chance it could have been an Atlantic angel shark which has a similar mouth but is more ray like in appearance. From your point of view you may have not been able to see its whole shape.

Fran's boat, Daybreaker, usually leaves from the same marina as the CAD boats unless he's doing a special trip like to the Pinthis, for example. The marina's name escapes me right now, but it's the one right on Rte 133 across the street from the small cinema in Gloucester. If you looked up the CAD website, they'd have the marina's name and directions.
