It's getting close to my trip and I am getting excited. I plan on catching some Lobsters, I have been reading about it, but I still don't know where to look to find them!??

Anyhow, I am stoked, I have never been down to south Floridia before and this will be my first time diving OW. ( I am doing my checkout dives the first two days of my trip)
I am open to any suggestions and recommendations of places I should dive and things I should do while I am down there. I have 5 friends that are coming down with me too.

This is going to be great!!! As long as TS Chris stays out of the way :)

I just got back from that area. I only stayed one night in Key Largo and then commuted (for diving) from South Beach. I would suggest dinner at Lorilei's. Great place to watch the sunset!

I dove with Conch Republic Divers and (I'm drawing a blank). I really liked diving with Conch Republic. There were only 5 of us on the boat. We dove the Eagle (wreck) and Crocker's Reef. If this is your first time diving OW the Eagle is too advanced for your experience level. Call the shop and let them know before hand (if you already haven't made diving plans) your experience level and ask for their recommendations on the sites. The reefs were great and the water was nice and warm. I would still suggest an exposure suit of some sort, perhaps lycra. My buoyancy is pretty spot on but because of the surge I bumped some fire coral while taking some photos. After that, I wore my wetsuit....still have the marks from the coral...:(

Have a great time!!

I tend to get cold easy, so I will be wearing a 3/2 wetsuit anyway. ReneeC is actually taking doing my checkout dives with me and we are actually going out with Conch Republic for those dives. I just didn't know if anyone had any other suggestions.

Lorilei's? I will keep that in mind. I intend on staying well away from touching anything. With exception of my head I will have everything covered just in case.

Get hold of the new SCUBA Diving Magazine, on the cover is the title: Keys Rad Trip.
