6 inch or 8 inch Dome port?

For rectilinear wide-angle you want the biggest dome you can get in order to have the corners in focus. You'll also probably need a diopter of some sort since the minimum focusing distance on that lens is 28cm/11in.
 
Thanks, however at UW photography guide it was said that "using the 16-35mm without a diopter on a 8”, with good results." but perhaps thats only true for the 8" dome?

Go to WetPixel.com and sign up. Then search the articles and forums using "dome theory" and "diopters" (and maybe even "dioptres", on the off chance a Brit has some valuable input :wink:) as search terms. There is an amazing wealth of knowledge over there.
