With only 5-10 knot winds from SW, Seas calm, Sunny, 60 degree air temp, and high tide at 9:00 AM, couldn't asked for a perfect day to dive Cath. rocks. Unfortunately, a lot of other divers had the same idea. I was lucky to get last parking spot.
Of course a large group of divers were coming up as I was entering so I waited to enter. Water's still 43-44 at depth (70 fsw) Closer to 47-50 at surface near entry point. Saw some big mamma lobsters in traps (just looking!) Vis wasn't the best. Lots of plankton.
On way back, found a mask and snorkle near entry point. Some diver must have put mask up on hood or lost hold of it as swam to shore.
As soon as I got to shore to take my mask off, my mask strap broke! Go figure. Only had time for one dive so called it a day.
Saw lots of usual subjects, fluke, small rays..
Still my most favorite shore dive in New England
