Hey all,
I have been diving with the pt15 for too long without a strobe. Should i keep the pt15 and get inon strobe or go with the ikelite housing with ttl capability? Money doesn't matter except for the slr transformation. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use my PT015 with the Inon 220s strobe and love it. For me, there is no reason to change to Ikelite. I prefer manual control of my strobes...the new Inon 2000 is getting great reviews for it's psuedo ttl performance...

But if you want to see some amazing non-strobe stuff, check out PhotoTJ's stuff. Inspiring stuff this guy gets with his little Canon P&S.

The D180 was designed with the 5050 partially in mind. It delivers TTL when coupled with the F/O kit.

LOTS of Oly 5050 / PT-015 users on ScubaBoard have that rig. Some will chime in soon.

I can only echo what alcina and Mo said. The Inon D-180, Z200 or the new D2000 are excellent choices for the PT-15. I also prefer using mine in manual mode but the D-180 does a pretty fine job in pseudo TTL. TTL is no guarantee of perfect exposure, you always have to tweak it just a bit. I see no reason to move to Ikelight just for strobe choice.

Yep - what the others said. I use a C5050/PT-015 with a D-180. Been getting some good results using the fibre optic connection with manual settings. I just added a D-2000 for a 2nd strobe. Can't go wrong with that!

My lds only sells ikelite products. Could someone tell me how to purchase a complete inon strobe package for the pt15?

You know, if you aren't 100% on investing in a strobe right this minute, have a look at calypsonick's gallery - he only uses the camera & housing with no extras.

Good point Alcina. It may even be worthwhile looking into getting a wide angle lens or even a macro lens first. Cutting back on the amount of water you shoot through can make a big difference.
