When I plug in the charger the plug and the charger has a red light on , after awhile the plug light turns green but the charger light stays red is this correct for charging the battery.

It is good to know that you are our products users.
First of all, after charging for a while,the charger still stay red light is correct.
You want to know whether the battery is full or not , just need to check the plug light is from red light turn to green light . As the plug light is green , mean the battery is full!
