That is the superman position - it's not a 'PADI' term, it's just how I, and many other instructors describe it.jeckyll:My PADI OW book mentions holding your right hand over your head and venting with the left ... nothing about extending or superman postion. (OW version 2.5 pg 119).

Ahh. No - that would be a nightmare to teach on OW !! I just use the term 'superman', as it helps the students remember the position better and are more likely to get it right first time.jeckyll:I thought you actually meant being horizontal in the water instead of going 'heads up'...
Different instructors use different terms, I use 'extend' to cover both arms (left arm up, with inflator hose ready to deflate, right arm up to protect the head), otherwise I find the students tend to just hold the inflator up and don't protect their head with the other hand. Then I put their right hand above their head, and they drop the inflator, I pick that back up for them and they drop the right hand again.....etc etc.creamofwheat:I thought the "e" in stella stood for "exhaust" your BC. I could be wrong though.
Bubble Junky:Descent = SORTED:
S = Signal
O = Orientate (to shore/boat & to bottom)
R = Reg in
T = Time
E+D = Equalise & descend
It's already theredel_mo:I like to add an "E" in "SORTD" for descending. The "E" is for equalize.
