i went on fri. and did my final exam( went and bought the book for ow and studied the stuff on my own)passed without missing 1 ? !!! then he said that he had some free time that afternoon and that he could take me to the pool and get my cwd started. well we went and i did all of my skills for all the confined water dives that same evening! he said that since i was very comfy in the water and that all went without a hitch that all i haave now is the 4 ow dives. :profile: + :diver: = :jump013:

I've had a few students that take to the sport very quickly. However, remember this; you are using life support equipment under water, and if you rush things, your instincts may kill you. This is an environment that your mind is not going to react correctly to, if an incident occurs and you need to solve a problem. Your instincts under water are wrong, and you need time to teach your brain to accept the new surroundings and suppress the fight or flight primal instinct. You may get all the skills done without trouble, but you need to spend time under water to train you mind to allow you to think problems through.

So congratulations on the fast progress, but keep your first several dives after certification above 60 feet and give your mind a chance to catch up and acclimatize to the new surroundings.

thanks pt40, point well taken and after all how would i enjoy a life time of these wonderful and surprising moments if i got careless and killed myself on the 3rd dive. I also think that it happened all to fast and if i feel to uncomfortable on the 1st owd then it'll be back to the pool for me and the instructor whether he likes it or not. :argue:
