If you’re looking for a mini-dive vacation this summer then look no further. Plan ahead and join us on our once-a-year “Southern California Channel Islands Grand Tour” 5 day trip multi island dive trip August 2-6th.

This is a charter thru Reef Seekers so call Ken at 310-652-4990 for more info. $1249 all inclusive including crew tip.

This trip is the one where we follow the good seas and dive only the most spectacular dive sites that our area has to offer. Of course, all destinations are weather dependent, but our initial plan is to try something like this:

Day 1 Olympic Wreck near Long Beach then head to Catalina Is. To dive the spectacular reefs and kelpbeds.

Day 2 Santa Barbara Is and Black Caverns. Look out for the frolicking Sea Lions!

Day 3 The rarely dove Begg Rock (Near San Nick Is.) Come dive the spectacular Razorback ridge a sheer wall.. that is amazing.

Day 4 San Clemente Is home of the Giant Black Seabass and some great visability.

Day 5 Farnsworth Banks home of rare Purple Coral then we’ll dive Catalina’s backside.

This 5 day trip is an all inclusive and will be a smaller than normal load. The price includes as many dives as you can safely make, multiple night dives, 3000 psi air fills, breakfast, snacks (our world famous Monkey Bread), lunch, dinner, and all non alcoholic drinks.

This is your chance to dive, eat, sleep, dive, dive dive, eat sleep… you get the picture.

The Great Escape is the largest boat in the LA / Long Beach harbor basin at 85' long and 25' wide making it a very stable ride and is designed for these long multi day trips. We have bunks, some staterooms, a full sit down galley, 2 heads, 4 hot fresh water showers, a camera assembly station, fresh water camera rinse tanks, live game wells and lots of fun. Parking is free.

Call 866-348-3262 or visit our website for more info about the boat. Call Ken at Reef Seekers for booking info. 310-652-4990. If you’re not from the area, talk to Ken and he can arrange a tank and weights, etc. Reef Seekers Dive Co. Home Page

Hope to see you on the boat soon, Capt. Tim

This looks like something me and my wife would be interested in doing. We are from florida and have a few questions. Are the fills Nitrox or just air? Also what is the average number of dives a day? What is the normal water that time of year?

Love to have you join us. (I'm the charterer, BTW.)

Are the fills Nitrox or just air?

Fills are all air. The boat generally pumps to about 3000psi. California boats typically do not includes tanks/weights since they tend to cater to a local diving community so if you'd be needing those (and I presume you would) let me know and we'll set something up where I'll get those for you. And you can choose between steel and aluminum tanks.

Also what is the average number of dives a day?

The general plan would be for five dives per day (although we might sneak in a 6th once in a while). In very general terms, it would probably be diving at 8AM, 11AM, 2PM, 5PM, and 8PM with a max one-hour dive time (some will be shorter due to depth/deco time) and a 2-hour surface interval which also allows us time to change dive sites as well as fill tanks.

What is the normal water that time of year?

The normal water this time of the year is wet. :D But in terms of what you really wanted to know, temp was likely be around 65º or so. Viz can vary by location (and obviously will be affected by weather) but will probably average 50-60 feet. I'd say 20 feet on the low end and 100 feet on the high end. Best viz will likely come at Begg Rock (San Nicolas Island) and San Clemente Island. Photographically, there's everything from wide-angle to macro and lots of stuff in-between. And the kelp beds are gorgeosu this timeof the year.

Let me know if you have any other questions and if you'd like to sign up, feel free to contact me directly.

- Ken
