I assume the machining. They have O-rings in the ends in order to be gas tight. (I doubt you would find even a plain SS bolt of this size for $.50.)
I believe the threads are 5/8 British standard pipe which would have a 55 degree thread form vs the more common 60 degree the UNC/UNF and metric threads have. BSP isn’t going to be common at your local hardware store.
