Again our most important feature is that the place NOT be kid friendly. Nothing worse than having to deal with other peoples kids while we are escaping ours for a few days.

Cost is not much of a concern. Nice reef and a good bar would be HUGE. Also we need a car rental and a hotel that includes tanks would be sweet. As im assuming most do?

This is our first trip to Bonaire. We in Aruba for a Wedding for a couple days prior.

Also if anyone might have any tips on getting there from Aruba it would be appreciated.

If you don't mind LOW budget,Wannadive is a great dive op.
Small cheap but clean rooms.Great people running the place.
Lots of FUN at the bar.Tanks are just waitng for you, gearroom on site.

You could also go to Edenbeach, same dive op.and a great beachbar/restaurant.

I noticed most places down there only put a week rate on their site. I wish they would just put a nightly rate. Makes things much simpler.

Thanks for the reccomendation. I will email them for room rates.

I've stayed at Capt Don's with good results, but that has been a few years ago.

Try Den Laman Condos. They're on the water a little north of town and since it's just 16 condos, less likely to have kids. They book by the night also: http://www.denlaman.com/accommodations.html

Most likely there will be kids just nextdoor at Sand Dollar Condos though. SD's pool is on the backside though and they have a lousy beach so it was still fairly quiet. We were only there one day though but it was in summer.

Den Laman is on Bari Reef, one of the not to miss shoredives in the area also. Bonaire Dive and Adventure is their on-site diveop. We did a REEF fishcount with them on Bari Reef - something a little different...

Another option might be Bel-Mar condos south of town. We stayed there a week and it was dead quiet at night. I have heard that if there are kids in the pool, it's annoying, which I could believe since the pool is 50' from everybody's patio - it's a very compressed property. The other Buddy diveshop is there so you get use of Buddy's facilities at their north resort also - including the drive-thru tank pickup.

Options between Aruba and Bonaire are:

Insel Air
Dutch Antilles Express
Tiara Air

Not to pan the previous selection but Captain Don's is a bigger resort with bigger amenities. I saw a bunch of kids playing around the pool there one day. I'd stay away from Buddy Dive or the Plaza Resort for the same reasons. We dove with Toucan Dive at the Plaza and went to their beach buffet, there were a lot of kids around their large pool every time. And playing with watertoys/volleyball on their beach right in front of the beach bar. Didn't spend enough time at Buddy's to get a sense of it.

Take a look at Deep Blue View. Great place for relaxing, enjoying the view, tanks are right there, Menno can arrange a truck and Ester is a great hostess.

It isn't on the water, but to us that was perfect. You should explore the various dive sites and you will NOT regret staying there.

Deep Blue View, intimate resort. Dive Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean

I second the advice about Deep Blue View. You will not find young kids there. Ester and Menno take great care of you, the rooms and grounds are lovely and the tank area and lockers are immaculate. Ester's breakfasts are delicious and there is a refrigerator for guests to use for keeping beer or food.

I have not stayed at deep blue.

But I would recommed checking it out based on comments from others
