Where exactly is Bull Point? I'm familiar with Ft Wetherill but not Bull Point.

What kind of dive is it? How deep etc.

Bull Pt is basically the same place as Ft. Wetherill. It is just the northern point on the next cover over from Ft Wetherill. You would drive just like you were going to Ft Wetherill but when you get to Ft Wetherill, instead of turing into the Ft. W lot just keep going and the road will dead end right into a parking lot. You will see that there is a facility and a pier there. If you walk out to the pier you will see there is a point just north of the dock with a big rock off the tip. This is Bull point. You can do a giant stride entry from the pier and dive the point.

Bull Pt can have a relatively strong current when the tide is running. It also gets reasonably deep. The typical max depth on a dive there would be in the 60-70 ft range. If you stray further out toward the channel it does get deeper than 100ft. You can also dive it much shallower if you want.

Here is a chart of the area.... a lot of people dive that island/big rock right off the point.

You know I really hate having to work tonight. I really want to see the wall at night, the closest I have was on a dusk dive during my NITROX class. Oh Well.

Great Dives Last night.

1st Dive was to 79 feet for 27 Minutes off of Bull Point. Mild current. water temp was 67 degrees. vis was about 6 feet. Saw some good sized squid. Couple of big Flats.

2nd Dive was 30 feet for 42 minutes. went to Right cove at FT Wetherill. Vis was a bit less then 6 feet. Lots of tiny squid there. Loads of Flats...Saw about 10 good sized Blue Crabs. Lots of Little Bugs. Didn't see any keepers.

RIOceanographer and V-Matt hope you had a good time.

We should try to make this a weekly thing. Pick new sites and go scope em out.
