Scott Gonnello joins the list of CHUM speakers who have led interesting lives. As a young adult, he was kicked out of college for being “below the academic standards”. Later he developed and patented an aquarium filter. Since the early days of the internet, he has also been one of the best SEO consultants in America, advising companies around the globe. He has authored two books - Common SEO Mistakes: Basic Edition and Climbing the Food Chain: Business Success from the Ocean's Depths.
In 2019, he set all of that aside and became the founder and Executive Director of Lionfish Central, Inc, which is where we pick up the story. Founded around the concepts of evaluation, education, and eradication, Lionfish Central has developed some interesting tools to accomplish these objectives.
They created a lionfish hunting video game, a Lionfish Reef Heroes comic book, and what I found most interesting, a self-made one-man submarine for hunting lionfish, in addition to other projects.
