I'm going on my first Aquacat Cruise in 3 weeks! (Oct 21). I think I have everything I'll need, but does anyone have any suggestions for somthing that might be easily overlooked? I've been told to pack light when it comes to clothes, since it seems you never get out of your shorts or dive gear.
I've got time to order stuff if I need it, so help me make the best of the trip!

PS: If I posted a list of what I have, would that help?

Ok...don't everybody answer at the same time! :) You're just not answering because you're ALL JEALOUS!!!!

:) (I'm just playin')

Really...anyone have suggestions?

I just got back from a Blackbeard cruise,,,,same company but Blackbeard is the poor man's AquaCat. You are correct, no need for clothes. Bring shorts, bathing suits, T-shirts, deck shoes, toothbrush, toiletries. Dont know about AquaCat but on Blackbeard I dove 20 times and sat out 4 dives in one week. (doggone no fly rules)
Best value of any dive trip so far for me. Great fun, great dive spots, great memories and met several great new friends.

I've been on the Aquacat a few times over the last few years, and it is a very nice boat. Plenty of room, comfy cabins, large salon, huge top sundeck (with beer taps!) and a good dive deck. The crew tends to change on a six-monthly rota, so they are probably all new (apart from the captain, who I think is still Mark), but every load I have been on with have been good. If you do all the dives over the five-and-a-half days of diving, you can log 27 dives... Great cookies, good food, good diving... What more could you want?

I lived in shorts and Ts on board, no shoes, and then swimmers and wetsuit. No need to dress up. Just take one set of clothes to wear the last night, when you are out on the town in Nassau. Last trip was a couple of years ago and Carlos 'n' Charlies + my 30th birthday = major drinkfest and lots of hangovers the next morning!

Have a good trip!

Mark

Pack a speedo thong & wear it on deck. It would excellent conversation piece & break the ice as an intro to the other divers.
With me in a speedo, the conversation would be:

"Why is there a bear, in a speedo, on our boat?"
"That's not a bear...that's TJ"
"Oh..nevermind"

Maybe I should wear my bullet proof cup? (see my avatar) :D

OK, here's my gear list. Anything missing?

BCD
Compass
Knife
Dive Alert
Emergency Sausage
DAN Tags
Regulator
Mask/Snorkel
Defog
Dive Computer
Reef Gloves
3mm Boots
3mm Wetsuit
Rash Guard Shirt
Biker Shorts ("rash guard" groin :) )
Main Light
Backup Light
Tank Light (night dive)
Fins
Xtra Batteries
Spare Parts Kit
Dive Logs
PADI Cards (Adv. OW & Nitrox)
DAN Card

Anyone?

I just got back from another fabulous trip on the Aqua Cat. Your list looks good to me. You might want to save your looser fitting clothing for the end of the week ;)

BTW - The water temperatures for the week of Sept 30 - Oct 7 were 84°F - 86°F.

Great! I'm glad I just made a last minute order then! I picked up a full body skin, one of those microfiber towels, and a new knife (since mine is about as sharp as a stick). Oh, had to pick up a new hat too. :)

Jeez Jeff, you were up at 11:00 am this morning? I don't see a dive report filed yet!:rofl3: (I told you you should have taken up a collection to take me along!)

Looking forward to seeing the vids!
