We’re Pluto Dive, a dive center based in Playa del Carmen, and we wanted to share our top three favorite cenote dives in the Riviera Maya. If you’re planning a trip here, these spots are absolute musts for certified divers looking for unique underwater experiences.
1. Dos Ojos – Probably the most famous cenote, great for all levels, with stunning crystal-clear water and easy swim-throughs. Perfect for photographers!
2. Dreamgate – A bit more advanced, known for its incredible formations and light beams. Great for experienced cavern divers.
3. El Pit – Deep and dramatic, offering amazing visibility and the chance to see rare geological formations and light shafts. Recommended for advanced divers.
These cenotes are all within easy reach of Playa del Carmen and provide a fascinating contrast to ocean diving.
