Well if they where down 64 meters (210 feet) and planning on going "much deeper" according to the article it's not terribly supprising that they didn't come back. I wish the article gave a little more information on what they where doing down that deep and what other certs (i.e. tech, deco) they where working with at that time. Very sad and horrible for their families.

Yeah, sorry, when I said 'air', I meant 'gas'...or, as you say, probably a gas mixture. It just seems that for those 3 particular guys, so experienced, that it might be something common to all three.
 
I cant imagine what kind of Divemaster training was going on at greater than 130ft.
