Hmmm, I hadn't considered this. Does this pose some sort of tank expansion risk? If I decide to swap them out, is 300-500 psi still too much pressure?

No, mostly if you remove both bolts at the same time and something happens that damages the manifold while underpressure. Just replace one bolt at a time so there is always one band in holding everything in place. This procedure will ensure that you reduce the risk of any damage.

I have had nothing but trouble with stainless bolt/nut combinations due to galling. Too many times I have had to torque and snap the end of the bolt off just to get it apart when the nut was seized. I always use hot-dipped galvanized hardware on my bands now.

A small amount of anti seize compound and not using a gorilla arm when tighting them will solve the galling issue.

Tell me please, galvanised twins, chrome single yoke manifold and bands. Boots or no boots? Cheers.

Boots are OK as long as you remove them after every diving day and rinse and dry both boots and tanks before putting them back on.

Like others, I prefer tanks and women with round bottoms. But only women should wear boots :)

Thanks Captain but I would rather poke my finger through my eye. Thanks Tortuga68 but I'm to busy on here to have built navy ally's yet. Thanks Scared Silly, it's all about the looks, and they're only going to fall over because they weren't over in the first place. So I guess I'll take a few boots off so I don't have to poke my finger through my eye and so I can rub some round bottoms.

You won't have any issues with the 5/16" hardware, some brands come with 5/16" but I believe Highland comes with 3/8". The Salvo bands that I bought a few years ago came with 3/8" bolts also.
