Am new to diving and am in the process of getting my C-card. Bought all the equipment and have a Dacor Fury reg. Problem is that on my confined dives to 12 feet it was fine, but in open water at approx. 25 feet it is extremely hard to get air. I had to abort my dive. Is there a way to reduce opening pressure or spring tension in this 2nd stage? Tanks in advance Doug

Hi

well you bought your self a dacor reg that is not really the best one. You can increase the IP but this makes your reg unreliable prone to freezing and freeflowing ... and some other things that i forget now. Solution: Buy a nice and highperforming reg.

By the way did you ever tryed to look up or hang up side down or anything else with your reg at deep depths? Well dont try.

Doug,

Have you taken the reg back to where you purchased it, explained the problem, and asked them to check it out? That's one of the big advantages of buying from a reputable LDS.

Good point.

Most (all) regs should breath fine with one person at 25ft. Some regs will suffer as you get deep or have two divers breathing from the sam 1st stage. It sounds like there is something wrong.

You shouldn't need to adjust the factory settings. Some regs have a 'transit' mode that the reg is put into while it is delivered and stored. Not sure about the Fury. Your LDS can advise.

Was your tank fully open? Easy thing to forget when you are a newbie.

I solved my problem with the Dacor reg. I carried it back to the LDS that I bought it from and told him to dive with it. I then went to another LDS and bought an Aqua Lung Titan. Thanks for the info::) :) :) :) :) Doug
