Why does the LED screen when you switch from A to M mode become darker? It is very annoying that this happens. Any reasons why this happens?

The screen dims in manual mode since it shows a "live-view" of the actual image, this can not be corrected except by adjusting the camera's settings for proper exposure or by using a focus light in low-light situations.

just to confirm: it is the same issue as with the dx-1g, that when taking pictures underwater in M mode the screen goes very dark??
