NZ is the only country in which I actually cried leaving. My parents were spending their kids inheritance for a month in The Land of Oz and Aotearoa. I had written to several geothermal power plants and other engineering firms months before and convince mom & dad to do a north/south tour. Didn't take too much convincing of dad as he was a engineering geologist and designed thin arch concrete and earth filled dams. Yeah not quite your typical tourist. We stayed locally with friends, and at Little Sisters of The Poor resident homes as dad's aunt was a Little Sister. A few days before we were to come back dad asked what I would do if one of the companies called me and made a job offer, I was 25 at the time. I told dad that give me a 1/2 hour and I could make him a list of what to give a way, what to sell and what to send. I don't need to go back tot he US as I have been living out of a duffel bag for the last month.
