Presuming that a "value" set will get banged around more than an expensive set, the Excursion case is indestructible.
"X" performance is slightly better, but tough to see on anything but a flowmeter.
The Excursion is a nice, compact 2nd stage compared to the X, which has the profile of the Signature series. It also has a sturdier feel to it than either of the others. My only complaint about either the Excursion or the X is that the adjustment knob is stiff, making it more difficult to adjust while in use.
Otherwise, they’ve both been excellent chooses for my wife’s setup.

I'm not up to searching prices worldwide, but here in Aus the Garmin Descent G1 is down to AU$600 from full RRP of $950 in several stores. There was a post a few days ago that indicated similar in the EU.

IMO, a great computer that bridges the "upper recreational" to "tech backup" gap. Only downside is no air integration.

My theory based on not much more than vibes is an AI G2 is ~6 months away, but the on-sale G1 is a great option for anyone looking for a computer right now.

I just noticed on the email from D6 that the sale that the setup @rsingler posted can be either Excursion or X 2nds. The choice isn’t available in the order screen as drop downs, so it must be an “add it to the comments” or “send an email” situation.

Maybe @LandonL can weigh in on that.

@RIHappyDiver I am seeing both options available. It is not a drop down option, but just make sure you select the package you want.

Paragon Dive Group full and final sales list is not out. Some of the ones that you don't see very often - Fourth Element 20% Off, Apeks 20% Off, Aqualung 20% Off, and Dive Rite 20% off. All the details can be found here:

The best deals end Monday 12/2 at 11:59 MST.

UK based but The Scuba Diving Gear Store has the Santi BZ400x available for £325, down from £491. There's only a few sizes left (I grabbed an ML).
