The season began for me with a trip on my boat to see where the scallops had moved to and we were able to locate them in numbers just good enough to get our gallon each. Some of the meats were twice the size of what we usually get. Same size shells, same exact area, massive meat. Weird.
Two days later I went to my favorite lobster spot and found many Lobzillas, lots of shorts, eggers and notched and ended up with thirteen legal bugs including one that would have been oversized in a molt or two.
If the weather cooperates, I'm hoping to get back out for a trip or two this week.
