2014 Coastal Carolina Lionfish Derby

Hello scuba diving friends Here's the event info for the 2014 Coastal Carolina Lionfish Derby:

The event will be held on September 20&21st.
9/20: Captain's meeting from 6pm-9pm at Dockside along with registration and an information seminar
9/21: Day of the derby. Starts at 5AM-6PM. Weight in will begin at 6PM. Prizes and more after weight in is over.

For each boat entering, there can be up to four people aboard. This will count as one team, each team is responsible for their own $150 registration fee, or if you want to be a single diver the entry fee is $50. That will cover everything they need for materials, captains meeting, meals and general knowledge of lionfish and why we need to eradicate their populations on the Atlantic. There will be four categories for awards: Main prize for the most lionfish caught, the highest weight of lionfish caught, the largest lionfish (measured in mm) and the smallest lionfish. Once obtained, lionfish must be in a cooler in a bed of ice. Catch as many as you can in order to obtain some of the prizes at stake, and make our reefs healthy again!
