I'm a Fish!
Hi everyone, I'm back!!!

After a somewhat long recovery from a minor medical issue I'm back better than ever!!

I am planning the 6th annual north coast dive party again at ocean cove campground up on the beautiful sonoma county coast.
For those of you that have attended in the past you know what great times we have.

This year it will be August 3rd thru 6th (2006). That's thusday - sunday. I get there thursday and set up the camp and kitchen and most people get in friday night and dive their brains out sat and sunday. the big party is always saturday night which last year went till 3 am!
Of course if anyone can get there on thursday it's a bonus for me 'cause then we can grab more campsites together. Remeber you must have a car to be able to pat for a site. You can't pre reserve sites but there is no limit to the amount of cars you can stuff into a site as long as each person pays their $16.00 per night per vehic. they're cool. They also don't seem to care how late you stay up as long as there's no complaints. But from what I saw everyone in the campground was doing the same thing so it didn't matter.
The diving around there is great, I have a boat and if anybody else has a boat they can bring it would be a bonus. Kayaks are alway good too. If you have a kayak bring it. I try to at least get everyone out for one good boat dive, but there are a lot of people that come to this, so I like to encourage other options for people so they can maximize their diving adventures. Other options are shore diving, which I know of some great spots to go, and the other is kayak diving which opens up a whole new world as far as access.
Air fills can become a challenge at ocean cove since Capt. Bob stopped doing fills. Now we have to go to Bodega Bay or up to Gualala. My suggestion is to bring as many tanks as you have and if you don't have that many then split up your dives with some freediving.

I am thinking of reserving groupsite #2 or #3.
The cost for this is $160.00 night., If I can get 9 other people to commit I'll reserve it but it's a little much for me to pay all at once out of my pocket. So let me know.
Unless you think that the spot we were at last year was good, we'll just keep that.
And this year I WON"T forget my sign! I promise.

zky- glad ur doin better buddy!!!!! I'll definately try 2 be there. last year was a kick!!!!

I have marked it on my calendar as well. You sure put together a great trip last year with a good group of people. It was great to meet more people on SB and to feast on the bounties of the sea. North Coast diving beats Monterey diving any day of the week(providing she lets you in the water at all).

Eric,
I'll be there. Last year was Great and I wouldn't miss this for any thing. One point to be made for air fills is that if you use a din valve Gualala won't have an adapter so bring your own we got lucky last year and Jon brought his. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
I hope to see all that were there last year and look forward to meeting many more good people.

hey eric, glad to see you are doing well and the gang is all ready to go and dive, oh ya and party till 3-4 am you know , a good long surface int, lol, eric i will definatly be there and i can probley help if you want to pay that upfront or how ever that works, or at the same time the spots we had last year were cool also, what ever works bud we are down for it, talk to and see you some time soon:D

I'll be keeping an eye on these dates, and this thread.

Hey buddy I have been meaning to call you. I am glad to hear you are doing better. let's hit the ocean as soon as the waves calm down. As for the NC Dive Party, count me in as a definite.

Well, there's hope.
If you noticed the second post, I had to move the date into September.
The downside is some people with kids can't go because of school, but the upside is clearer and calmer water (sometimes).

ZKY
