What is the difference between a 200 bar manifold vs. a 300 bar manifold?
 
The depth of the threaded orface is deeper in a 300bar valve.
 
a couple of extra threads. 200 bar valves can accept an adapter to allow yoke regulators or fill whips to be put over the valve, 300 bar doesn't. The 200 bar valves are a weird exception for high pressure tanks, the DOT doesn't allow yoke regs to be used on tanks at or over 3500psi, hence the exemption and why most "hp steel" tanks are 3442 service pressure so they can still use the yoke reg/adapter. It isn't really a safety issue, but I do prefer 300 bar valves
 
In terms of the cylinder valve outlets then there are a couple of extra threads to prevent 200 bar rated fittings from being connected to a 300 bar gas supply and the valve body is heavier built.

In terms of the manifold between cylinder valves then I've never noticed any difference.
 
Our dive club uses AL80s, so would a 300 bar be fine?

If everyone has 300 bar DIN regulators, you are fine with 300 bar, but if anyone has a 200 bar DIN reg (do they make those?) or a yoke reg, they won't be able to use the tanks. Since you have AL80's, go with a PRO valve that had a "plug" that lets you use a yoke reg on it. They are 200 bar and any reg will work with them. The extra threads on the 300 bar manifold don't add any safety, they just take longer to put on and take off the reg.

Ive never seen a 200bar din regulator...most are marketed as 230bar or 300bar. The 230bar DIN regs will not work on a 300bar manifold. As far as the dive club using AL80's, if they are doubled use 300bar and if they are singles use 200bar convertables. Honestly though the 200bar manifolds are just fine for doubles, regardless of steel or aluminum, hp or lp.
 
If you decide to use the convertible 200 bar valves I would highly recommend that someone is in charge of removing the plugs after every dive and rinsing them. If left in the threads on the plug/valve will get mineral build up over time making it very difficult if not impossible to remove the plug. The hex slot in the plug which is brass will get striped. Thus basically leaving you with an expensive yoke valve - a fun project to remove it. My old dive club in France had this issue. I have convertible valves on few deco bottles and would just as rather have 300 bar valves - of course the plugs are never used.
 
the plugs also make filling nice because the plugs can be put in much faster than a din screw and you can throw the yoke fill whips over them.

For doubles it doesn't really matter since everyone diving them should have din valves.

Yes they do make 200bar din regulators. Usually used for argon inflation bottles, but they made some back in the day for breathing use

200bar=230bar=pro=232bar=convertible valve. They are all identical.
 
Okey adding question here... my twin 7liter 300bar set (steel, made by "eurocylinder" i belive)
Have same thread lenght as 200bar, bought brand new with manifoil/cranes installed. The selles says it's 300bar cranes/manifoil, and they have markings saying "300b"...
But some claim they just are 200b couse of the thread lenght... (?)
