Switched to split fins in 2008 and immediately lost the leg pain I'd get using my stiffer fins. I have Tusa X-pert Zoom Split fins and ScubaPro Twin Jet full foot foot split fins, the latter, I almost always take to Caribbean dive spots, Coz included. Use the Tusa's in colder water.
People make a big deal about current in Coz, but it may be present or not or weak or strong. I wouldn't try to get gear specific to currents. As posted earlier, lots of people wear split in Coz, but they probably didn't get them specific for currents. I take a camera on almost every dive I do and am able to get into position as I need to as long as it's not a strong current. Because a frog kick becomes difficult to do doesn't mean one can't make modifications to accomplish a maneuver they want to do.
Last fall when I dove PDC, we had a day where the current was stronger (I carried more weight those dives) and dives where there was nothing. The day we went to Coz on that trip, the current was negligible.
Not saying one shouldn't be aware of or concerned about currents, but get the fins you're comfortable doing any dive in.
