To me this is always the DAYTONA 500....Which takes place this Sunday Feb. 16. I will be deep frying a turkey and having the masses over for a super-bowl bash as this is the most important sporting event of the year in my eyes.

Once the Winston Cup season is underway, I know we only have three more snow days, then a hot spell to spoil us for the upcoming spring, next comes another week of arctic bliss......and finally spring sets in for good.

That's all well and good...but what are these rumours I've been hearing about winter supposedly lasting into May this year?

One of my coworkers was talking about it...apparently Spring isn't supposed to break us out of this cold, white prison until really late...

Oh well. At least I can dream of warm days.

The only response I have to that is...how often in NOV. of this year did you have your winter coat on?

I chalk it all up to seasons changing all together.

Yeah, good point. It wasn't all that often...it's an acceptable trade overall. Winter can last until May as long as summer lasts until the start of December :)

I love it :) frozen poop. when I was a kid and went to visit my Grandparents in N alberta for Christmas I would try like hell to avoid using their Outhouse. It generally was -40 f out and I'd usually last about 2 -3 days before physical discomort levels equalized between my tiny white butt freezing off and expansion pressure. Best part about frozen poop....no smell.... Does the little pile falling over coincide with the aroma or does the smell proceed it and therefore wouldnt the first sign be the wee hint of Eau de Poop in the crisp morning air.

You people have analyzed this waaaaay too much.

The more "striking" odors seemed to subliminate off the tower while frozen, & not make much of an olfactory impression upon tower thawing.
Closing the lid resulted in interesting frost formations from the steam.
I never minded the outhouse as much as that cold emamel pot under the bed. Besides, we had to clean our own out the next morning anyway.
Watch out for those large white enamel "stock pots" you may find at a garage sale or flea market; it may not be something you'd want to simmer a batch of booyah in.

You're talking about frozen poop...and how it is a sign of spring...I think I'm going to start drinking or somethign....
