I bought the 'high speed card' for my DC310 and it didn't seem to write any faster.
to me it seems the camera transfer rate was slower than the 'fast card', so you are stuck with a slower write rate.
But I've kept my older 128mb, 256mb and 512mb cards just for use in this camera.
