Here is a picture of the back of the unit. It is not oil filled. I think the little gray port is an overpressure plug and the large one in the center is a pressure activated switch. I don't see a way to get to the battery, except perhaps the screw-on face, but that is probably glued in place and I have not monkeyed with it yet. Any ideas?
Just changed the battery on mine. The face unscrews. There is a thin Oring to keep and clean.
Unscrew the hose swivel, then unscrew the nut at the bottom of the SPG housing. Gently turn it over and the dial should fall out. CAUTION there are two small wires connecting the housing to the gauge. Unscrew the small philips head holding the battery down.
The battery is DL1/3N.
