The police received the alarm just before 3 p.m. A lifeless person is floating in the water of the Attersee. A large contingent of rescue workers drove to Steinbach am Attersee to the area of the Ofen diving entry point. Fire brigade divers were then able to bring the lifeless person to shore by swimming. Water rescue and Red Cross forces tried to save the diver's life, but resuscitation measures were unsuccessful.

100 meters depth single-handedly

The 38-year-old from Lower Austria undertook the dive unaccompanied. According to the police, he dived to a depth of 100 meters in the area of the “Black Bridge”. Then the diver may have had problems and carried out an emergency ascent.

Search for second diver stopped

Since it was initially unclear whether the diver had entered the water alone, a diving colleague was looked for as a precaution. However, no objects were found near the victim's parked car that would indicate a second diver. Therefore the search was stopped.

Pretty deep for a solo dive. I wonder if he actually planned to go that deep.
Did he go solo or did his buddy bail after the incident? Some people freak out and do ****** things when go south.

We've had guys get together with shop owners, fill station guys, make complex plans lots of mixes
and go to similar depths solo, training for deep exploration, as you won't know much until you go

Not everyone permits themselves to get hamstrung by the group fear due to a lack of knowledge

or courage
