One of Puget Sound's great sites is Sunrise Beach wall. Its just northwest of Tacoma in a high current area. The currents near it always run north, no matter the tide. At certain times the currents reverse on the wall due to a backeddy that sets up. At this time it is diveable. It's a small area and you can go back and forth at different depths and see more and more.
We managed to nail the slack today, jumping in while the current was running south and diving during the change. Nice to do it off a boat, as it's a steep hike otherwise. Sunrise is a Marine Protected Area and has many octos and wolf eels living there, along with lots of fish and invertebrates of all kinds. The shots below were all taken within about 10' of each other.
Taken with Fanatsea FD80/Nikon D80 & 1 SB800 strobe in FSB800 housing. i-TTL auto setting. 60mm Macro lens. Use warming & diffuser filter on strobe.
Giant Pacific Octopus
Gunnels
Wolf Eel Snack (Yes, that's an urchin, they love 'em like popcorn!)
Enjoy,
Jack
