Is Coronavirus keeping you from booking liveaboard/overseas trips this year?

That's my interpretation, that their business is not in the best shape. That they are using money coming in for future bookings to pay current expenses. I spoke with my friend the dive shop owner, he is planning on contacting his insurance and credit card company. So we'll see if it goes...

Is Coronavirus keeping you from booking liveaboard/overseas trips this year?

Unfortunately I paid through my local shop with a check. Maybe he will be willing to dispute if he paid for the group with a cc. I'll discuss with him tomorrow but he's also a personal friend so I won't do something that hurts him.

Is Coronavirus keeping you from booking liveaboard/overseas trips this year?

Yep. We were scheduled to go out on Nautilus Undersea next week from Cabo. The Nautilus is sticking to the terms and conditions for rebooking, being in my opinion unreasonable considering this is an unprecedented event. We didn't want to cancel, only to reschedule for later. But they require...

Diving shorts w/pockets or strap on thigh pocket?

Another vote here for the Apeks Tech Shorts. Plenty of storage, and a secure belt to keep them up. I chose a size that let me wear them with just a swimsuit for really warm water, or over a 3 or 5mm wetsuit for colder water. I have a Halcyon BP/W and I used to use the weight/cargo pocket they...

    Petrel repaired by Rebreathers, USA

Good points, I didn't see the Perdix manual since I don't have one (yet!). Needless to say, I will be removing the battery from my Shearwaters in the future!

    Petrel repaired by Rebreathers, USA

I just wanted to give a shout out to Rebreathers, USA in Everett, WA for the fantastic service on my Shearwater Petrel. I took out my dive gear recently for a trip, and my Petrel would not turn on. I opened the battery compartment to find a leaking battery. Perhaps it was my mistake for...

    TSandM -- Lynne Flaherty

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. I'm just now seeing this. Lynne was an amazing diver and even though we never met, she helped me several times both directly and indirectly, on this board and others. She will be missed.

GUE Fundies Class Review (Long Post)

    Nice job!

    Swimming ...

There are a few options for light fins that are good for frog kicks. I favor the UTD positively buoyant fins for wet diving. Definitely not a heavy fin.

    Petrel 2 released!

    Can't you return it?

    Swimming ...

Before learning and really getting comfortable with the frog kick, I used the flutter and that sort of sideways half flutter you often see tropical divemasters using. I always had sore ankles after a few days of diving on a liveaboard, and sometimes outright pain at the top of my ankles during...

    What is Ratio Deco?

I don't have an experienced opinion here, just thought I'd chime in on what I hope to do. Currently working toward GUE Tech 1. I have a Petrel. I plan to dive the way GUE teaches, which I believe is V-Planner and RD. I'll probably use another dive computer in gauge mode for RD and take the...
