hahah Elphinstone is quite far from Dahab... we from Dahab to Marsa last year and spent 8 hours in a car.... :D

Sharm will be a lot more expensive for you in all ways.... food, drink, hotels and diving... you can not compare Dahab to Sharm, its for people looking for different things in a way...

Marsa Alam is a great place. If you are concerned with being able to do Elphinstone b.c you lack 10 dives my advice would be to hit the unlimited house reef hard and build up the missing dives in 3-4 days, and if you feel comfortable with doing the dive then do it... regardless; I stayed at...
